"Science and everyday life cannot and should not be separated."
Rosalind Franklin
Our curriculum is meticulously designed and sequenced to maximise progression for all students, providing a high-quality science education. From year 7 onwards students acquire and hone skills that develop them into scientifically literate global citizens, an essential attribute to today’s world.
We have carefully interplayed the substantive and disciplinary knowledge in the curriculum to ensure a smooth transition across all the key stages. Science is integral to our daily lives, and our curriculum fosters meaningful learning connections across various subjects. We emphasise high level of numeracy and literacy alongside scientific skills, which enhance students’ overall learning and progress.
Developing articulate and accurate use of scientific language in key stage 3 is crucial for deeper understanding in key stage 4, helping to dispel misconceptions about the scientific world.
"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."
